Microsoft Windows Vista Tips and Tricks

  • Disabling UAC (User Account Control).

For power user you may wish to disable Windows Vista UAC which can be annoying for every day general use. The constant security alerts are most likely not an issue for the average home user but the power user does not wish to be reminded every two seconds that opening or changing an item is a security risk.

From the control panel follow these steps:

Uncheck "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and click "OK".

You will be prompted to rebooted.
